About Us

Northfield Pride had its beginnings with the inaugural Pride in the Park celebration organized by the Northfield Public Library in 2020. The event quickly grew from year to year in size and popularity. The library passed the organizing task on to a community committee, which evolved into an official 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors.

The mission of Northfield Pride is to:

  • Promote a safer environment for the LGBTQ+ community
  • Foster a sense of community among LGBTQ+ people
  • Provide safe events to celebrate diversity and build connection
  • Fundraise to promote visibility and awareness of LGBTQ+ presence and achievements
  • Foster communication, tolerance, and mutual support among LGBTQ+ people and allied communities
  • Give back to our community through events such as scholarships, sponsorships, and supporting other nonprofits and allied communities

We take immense pride in showcasing and celebrating the Northfield community’s deep-rooted values of love, care, and inclusivity. We are grateful for all the local organizations and individuals who support us through donations, sponsorship, partnership, volunteering, and advocacy.
